Egypt Classic Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo – Welcome to Egypt

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt. Our airport representative will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport (Arrival procedures) and will then escort you to your hotel in an air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. At the hotel, your tour manager will assist you with a smooth check-in and review your vacation itinerary with you to establish and confirm pick-up times for each tour. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2: Cairo

Today you’ll get a chance to check out Old Cairo! Our guide will help you to ensure you’re respectful of the religious gatherings and ceremonies going on as you visit the beautiful Muhammed Ali mosque, as well as the breathtaking Hanging Church of the Virgin Mary.

After lunch, we’ll head to the famous Egyptian Museum. You’ll have a chance to view major historical pieces discovered literally thousands of years ago, dating back to 3000 BC.

Day 3: Cairo

Today you’re going to visit the pyramids – one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

Beginning with the ancient necropolis, Saqqara, we’ll visit one of the oldest stone structures in the world: The Step Pyramid! You’ll get to learn that the
secrets of this desert world have been forgotten over the years, buried in the expansive sands – excavation is underway all year ‘round, making progress towards new discoveries every day.

From here you’ll have a bit of free time for lunch before arriving at The Great Pyramids to witness the beautiful architecture and appreciate all the work that really went into making this marvel.

Day 4: Cairo – Luxor

After your check out from the hotel in the morning, you’ll be transferred to Cairo Airport for a flight to Luxor, where you will be greeted and taken by an air-conditioned vehicle your Nile cruise ship. After lunch on board, enjoy a visit to the impressive Karnak Temples and Luxor Temple. You’ll have dinner on board the ship and stay overnight.

Day 5: Luxor – Edfu

You’ll have an early breakfast onboard, then head out to visit the Royal Cemetery for 62 Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, then to mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by the architects of the New Kingdom during the 15th century BC. Travel on to the Colossi of Memnon.

After lunch on board, you will sail to Edfu, enjoying dinner on board.

Day 6: Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan

After breakfast on board, you’ll stop for a visit to the Temple of Edfu, the best-preserved temple of the ancient world. The structure is dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. You’ll then sail to Kom Ombo, where you’ll encounter the twin temple of Kom Ombo, where you’ll learn about the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, whose monuments decorate each half of the temple. You’ll have your lunch back onboard the ship and sail on to Aswan. You’ll have dinner and stay overnight onboard the cruise ship.

Day 7: Aswan

After your breakfast on the Nile cruise ship, enjoy a day’s sightseeing in Aswan. Start with the High Dam and then visit the Unfinished Obelisk in the stone quarries of ancient Egypt, the largest obelisk yet discovered. You’ll then proceed to the beautiful Temple of Philae, devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor. You’ll have your dinner and stay overnight aboard the ship.

Day 8: Aswan – Cairo

You’ll disembark from your Nile cruise after breakfast and then transfer to Aswan Airport for your return to Cairo, where you will be met and assisted at the airport and then taken to your hotel. Overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 9: Cairo – Final Departure

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel followed by free time at your leisure, after which you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
